A Presentation about The Unemployment Rate
Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen, first of all, let me thank you all for coming here today, my name is Maggie. As you know last year was the largest wave of unemployment in history due to the global financial crisis. It has led to massive layoffs in many companies. If you don’t want to be affected by the unemployment, today my topic will be very important for you. A good staff has to possess at least three qualities, teamwork, efficiency and responsibility. Now I’d like you to take a look at this slide which shows how the unemployment rates in Taiwan between 2005 and 2009. As you can see here, the unemployment rate fluctuated between 3.91 and 4.14 percent in the first four years. If you look at the bar chart on the right, you will see that the highest increase was in 2009 with a rise of roughly 2 percentage points as the influence of global financial crisis. This was a sudden increase when compared to last year. To sum up then, I’d like to run through my main points again, teamwork, efficiency, and responsibility that are keys to becoming an excellent employee. They will increase your value in the job market, and will provide you with job security. Thank you all for listening.
