My Favorite Festival

Chinese New Year is one of my favorite festivals. It is the most important traditional Chinese holiday. All the members of a family will hold together to have a big dinner on New Year’s Eve. Of course, our family always has a reunion on that night. All sorts of foods will be cooked by my mother and father at home such as chicken, fish, vegetables, dumpling and hot pot. After dinner, we like to play cards and watch TV together. That night is full of happiness and warmness. We will go to temples at daybreak for good fortune, health and prosperity. Chinese New Year is not just like other festivals, it is deeply rooted in Chinese culture and traditions.

Coffee

Most of people like to start a day with a hot cup of coffee. Expresso, Macchiato, Long Black, Latte and Cappuccino are some sorts of coffee. Unknowingly, I also need to drink a cup of coffee at least per day. I always free to drink coffee when I have to work overtime. Coffee is also necessary for my exams, because it can make me more alert and energetic to study. Some people said that drinking the right quantity of coffee a day can benefit you. Coffee contains a compound called “Caffeine” which is considered to boost our energy. I think that is why I would love coffee so much.

My 2010 New Year Resolutions

With the New Year fast approaching, I am probably thinking about my 2010 resolutions. First, I would like to make a healthier lifestyle and balanced diet. I think I need to exercise more, so I want to ride the bike when I have free time on Saturday morning. Besides, make a small change in my diet. I wish I could give up drinking coffee. Maybe green tea is a good substitute for coffee. Furthermore, eating more fruits and vegetables is also important for me. However, I will start to make efforts at regular exercise and well-balanced diet. Second, I would like to travel abroad. I plan to take an individual travel to the Bangkok. So the primary thing is to improve my English skill from now on. And I will start to search the corresponding tour guides. All in all, I will do my best to achieve them whatever there are many difficulties may be.

Free time

Since I returned to be a student at Lunghwa University of Science and Technology, I need to go to school on weekends, so I don’t have too much free time anymore. When I have free time after work I might watch TV and surf Internet, then I will spend some time to preparing my assignments. Occasionally, I like to go to the movies and window shopping with my friends when I take a vacation. I also enjoy do nothing and sleeping whole day to relax. Recently, I expect that I will have more free time during a coming winter vacation, so I am planning a journey with my family. I wish I can achieve my plan smoothly.

The Advantage of Living in the Countryside

Growing up in the countryside can make a person cheerful and healthful. First, the countryside is no serious environmental pollution, so we can breathe fresh air all the time. For example, there are many factories in the city will discharge poisonous waste to pollute our environment. Second, it is better to keep a big dog in the countryside than a city. For instance, we usually can offer a large space or yard for a dog to run. It seems unlikely to allow a dog to run around in a small apartment. Third, we can easily eat a lot of fresh vegetables and fruit everyday. For example, our neighbors grow a lot of different vegetables, so they might give fresh vegetables to us when they have a good harvest. Finally, it is a good chance to save money. The daily expense on food and transportation in the countryside is lower than the spending in a city. In summary, there are four advantages which make me feel like to live in the countryside.
